Toolbar Menus - programs can be selected from the menu they reside on. The menu names are displayed along the top of the toolbar as shown in the image below.  Clicking  a menu option will display the contents of that menu. You can then select a program or action from the menu.  Note: 'greyed out' menu options are not available for selection.

Toolbar Icons - these are used to represent programs, options and functions that reside on menus.  They offer a quick way of accessing the program or selecting an option.  Icons are arranged along the toolbar as shown above. Clicking an icon will open up the program or action it represents.

Context Menus - where information is displayed in a spreadsheet like grid, for example on the sales order product entry screen, you can right-click the mouse to call up a context menu of the actions available, instead of using the icons in the toolbar.  The following image displays a context menu that has been called up using the right mouse button.

You can click a button with the mouse to execute the command on it, or if you tab onto it to select it, you can use the Enter or Return key to click the button. Selected buttons can be recognised by their darker (dotted) borders, or what is referred to as Focus.  In the above image, you can see that the Close button is selected.  You can also hold down the Alt key and type the underlined letter on a command button to select it instead of clicking it with the mouse.

Ellipsis - the ellipsis icon graphic is used as suffix on a data field, or command button to indicate that additional information may be required from the user in order for an action to be performed.  It provides a visual cue that selecting the item or clicking the ellipsis button will display an additional dialog box or window from which you can choose options or enter data.  Examples of ellipses icons are given below:
