Previous Top Next

It is of paramount importance that all users log off Power-Gx before shutting down the system, otherwise you could corrupt your data.  This topic explains how to shut down mvBase (the database environment within which Power-Gx operates) correctly before the server can be switched off.  You should work on the server that the system is installed on.

1.      On the server desktop or start menu, select the mvBase Administration Utility.  mvBase is comprised of two services, the Workstation Service and the Server Service, both of which need to be shutdown.  You should start with the Workstation Service.
2.      Start by clicking the Workstation tab.
3.      Click Workstation Service line.  The Stop button will become active.
4.      Click on the Stop button.
5.      Click Yes at the prompt “Are you sure you want to stop the mvBase Workstation service?”.  The status of the Workstation Service should change to Stopped after a few seconds. The Workstation Service has now been shutdown correctly.
6.      You should now stop the Server Service.  Click on the Server tab.  The following window will be displayed.
