Security access levels can be set for groups of users so they can only access
the Power-Gx options that are relevant to their job role. Firstly you should create the user groups and assign users to a group.
To set up and amend access levels:
1. Select the Administration
menu from the toolbar.
2. Click Security
Access Levels.
3. Select the
required Group from the drop-down menu.
4. Double-click Companies
to display the companies you have set up on
your system.
5. Tick or untick
the check-boxes in the Access column on the right-hand
side of the screen to indicate which companies this user group should
have access to.
6. For the companies
the user can access, double-click the company name
to reveal the menu options within that company.
7. Tick or untick
the check-boxes in the Access column to indicate which
menus this user group should have access to.
8. For the menus
the user can access, double-click the menu name to
display the programs on that menu.
9. Tick or untick
the check-boxes in the Access column to indicate which
programs this user group should have access to.
10. If further programs
reside within an option on this menu, they will be
indicated by the symbol in the tree. Remember to expand all options
by clicking the boxes.
11. If you want to set access
to specific options within a program, double-click
the program name to display the options within that program.
12. For each option within
this program decide whether the users in this group
should have Full Access to view and update this option, or whether they
should be able to View Only i.e. this option will be displayed on
screens/menus but will be greyed out so the user cannot amend this field.
If you do not want the user to even see that this option exists, you can
choose No View. Tick or untick the check-boxes in the as required to
indicate which level of access this user group should have in this program.
13. Double-click program
names and menu names to work through all the
options on the system to set comprehensive access levels for this user
group.
14. Save.
