After you have recorded your stock take on the stock take sheets, you can begin
entering it into the system.
1. Select Gx Stock on the toolbar.
2. Hold the cursor over Stock Take on the menu.
3. Select Enter Stock Take Quantities from the second menu displayed.
4. Choose whether to work on your own stock take figures only, or update all
products. Choosing your own will allow more than one operator into this
option at the same time as you, choosing to work on all products by all
operators will block others from accessing this option while you are in it.

The option you have selected will be displayed in the top right of the screen as
either All Operators Products or Current Operators
Products. Please note that this option is only displayed if no
other user inputting stock take quantities.
6. Select the Warehouse you are updating from the drop-down menu.
5. You may enter the details of the stock take in the grid, start on each row with the Stock Code - enter the stock code you wish to update,
you may search for a product by using the right mouse button and selecting
Search the Product Database. Once a product has
been input the Description, Pack size are
shown and the physical stock that the system believes to be present will be
displayed in the System Packs
and System Singles columns.
7. Enter the quantity counted in the
Packs and Singles columns. The system
will automatically calculate the variance and display it in the Variance
Packs and Sgls columns.
8. There is an Import function to enable you to import data from handheld devices. Click on the
Import button once you have selected the warehouse, a message will inform you of the file layout requirements. These are
column one should be the product or bar code and column two the stock count, the
file should be tab delimited (.txt) or comma separated value (.csv) format.
Please note that if you are counting full packs then the bar code should be the
pack bar code. Similarly if you are counting singles then the bar code
should be the single bar code.
A window will appear asking for the filename of the file to import, you may
input the name or alternatively navigate to file and double click on it to
select it.
Next a sample of the first 50 rows will be displayed, check it and press OK to
continue and import the file into the grid.
9. Click Save to save your work done so far.
You may remove a line at any time by right clicking on the row and selecting
Delete a Product.
10. You can recall this sheet at anytime, when you open it again the lines entered
so far will still show.
