Own Stock Use Report
Previous Top Next

A bespoke report can be created to show the products moved out of your warehouse for your own use in the business, and the total value of this stock. When entering stock movements to adjust these items out of stock, you will need to use a common reference such as "own use".  The report criteria is then set to select all stock movements with this particular reference, and can be run for a set date range, usually monthly, to obtain the value of stock used within the business each month.  This report many become part of your month end routine, and nominal journals can be posted to reflect this figure accurately in the nominal ledger.   Click here for details of the journals required to account for own stock usage in the nominal ledger.

Please contact Calidore and provide the reference you will be using for own use stock adjustments and we will write the report for you.  Otherwise you can use the Adhoc Reports program to create the report yourself.

To run the report:
1.      Choose Gx Stock from the toolbar.
2.      Select Stock Reports on the menu.
3.      Select Adhoc Reports from the list.
4.      From the Saved Reports list, double-click POWER-Gx STOCK
5.      Click the Own Stock Use report.
6.      Amend the date range by clicking on the row with the date selection criteria in the yellow Query box at the bottom right of the screen.  This moves the date range currently set into the white Selection Criteria box to the left.
7.      Overtype the start and end dates you want the report to include in the white Selection Criteria box.
8.      Click the Ok button to update the criteria in the yellow Query box.
9.      Now click the Export to Excel button.
10.   You will need to save the spreadsheet before it will open.  It is given the suggested file name "exports" but this can be amended.  For Power Gx on the Cloud you will receive further instructions regarding copying the file to your desktop.   For other Power Gx versions the exported data should open up automatically in a spreadsheet, but if it does not you should go into "My Computer" on your desktop or Windows Start menu and navigate to the following location: C:\Calidore\Reports\Stock\OP, find your filename and open it.
11.   You can add a Sum calculation to the Value column in the exported spreadsheet to obtain a total value of the stock you have used in this date range.  This figure can be posted in nominal journals to record your own stock usage.
